On 20th July 2018 we have officially celebrated the 180th Anniversary of ironworks and the foundry, the traditions of which are continued by METALPOL Węgierska Górka.
The celebrations of the 180th Anniversary took place at a production plant, where a new LORAMENDI e-VMM 6080 molding line is installed. On this day, a symbolic key to the molding line was handed to the President of METALPOL, Mr. Marek Podgrodzki by the representative of LORAMENDI company – Mr. Herve Mastin. From that time on the molding line works for our company, allowing us to manufacture complicated castings for our customers with high requirements.
The official ceremonies were attended by the representatives of local communities, the family of Prof. Jerzy Buzek (a longstanding manager of the foundry in the 30’s), representatives of AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków as well as by our customers, METALPOL scholarship holders and, the most important, METALPOL employees.
On the occasion of the 180th Anniversary, there was also an inauguration of the METALPOL Honor Lane held on the premises of the company. More than 100 names of the employees who had worked over 20 years in the company or had earned special recognition were presented on a special board.
In addition to that, there had been four trees planted, in memory of the founder of ironworks, Count Adam Wielopolski, two longstanding managers: Jerzy Buzek (1911-1939) and Władysław Adamiec (1955-1978) as well as the first President of METALPOL, Mr. Jean-Pierre Frot (2000-2005).
After the celebrations at our premises, the gathered guests moved to the monument of the general manager Jerzy Buzek and laid flowers in his honor and memory.
